USA Cheer would like to congratulate Alysia Ulfers on being named the new Director of Dance.

Memphis, Tenn., February 28, 2014 – USA Cheer has appointed Alysia Ulfers as the Director of Dance.  She is currently the Head Coach for the University of St. Thomas, in St. Paul, Minnesota and choreographed for some of the top universities in the country.

“Alysia’s extensive experience in all aspects of dance, coupled with her incredible record of success will help us continue the tradition of excellence with Team USA Dance,” says Bill Seely, Executive Director for USA Cheer.

As a coach, Ulfers has won 6 national titles in Jazz and Hip Hop, has won the Coaches Leadership Award, judged the ICU Championships the last two years, was a V!Roc Instructor and has 9 years experience as a UDA Instructor.

Ulfers is very excited to join the USA Cheer Team. She said, “I am thrilled to be a part of USA Cheer. It’s an opportunity of a lifetime to combine my passion for dance, dedication to coaching and pride for being an American into one highly respected position. I’m excited to put my energy toward keeping the National Dance Team at its best and working with the entire coaching staff to make competing at the ICU Championships a positive and rewarding experience for the athletes.”

Team USA Dance has won a total of 12 gold and 3 silver medals at the International Cheer Union World Championship in Jazz, Hip Hop and Freestyle since 2009. This year’s championship is April 24-25, 2014 in Orlando, FL.
